BI Engineer

About the Role

Our client, a industry/sector company based in Brussels, is looking for an experienced Freelance Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer to design and optimize data-driven solutions. You will be responsible for developing BI dashboards, reports, and analytics pipelines, ensuring high-quality insights that drive business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize BI solutions (dashboards, reports, and data visualizations).
• Work with stakeholders to define business requirements and translate them into actionable insights.
• Design and manage ETL/ELT processes to transform raw data into structured and meaningful formats.
• Optimize data models and data warehouses to improve reporting performance.
• Implement data governance, quality, and security best practices.
• Work with SQL, Python, and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Qlik, etc.).
• Collaborate with Data Engineers and Analysts to ensure efficient data pipelines and workflows.
• Support self-service analytics initiatives within the company.

Requirements

• Fluent in French or Dutch (English proficiency is a plus).
• Proven experience as a BI Engineer or similar role in a freelance or consulting capacity.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, or R for data manipulation and analysis.
• Hands-on experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Qlik, etc.).
• Experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT development, and data warehousing (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for BI and analytics.
• Understanding of data governance, security, and GDPR compliance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
