Hours: Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00 - 35 hours per week

Grade: CM40

Job Purpose
Vaultex are currently undertaking a large transformation programme to ensure our business is fit for the future. As part of the transformation we are seeking a Developer with a focus on Business Intelligence to support the development of high-quality systems that are critical to business stakeholders. The BI Developer will work as part of a collaborative development team, using modern tools and practices to deliver more reliable, user-focused applications that align with our development standards and business needs. An understanding of business requirements, strong attention to detail, and the ability to contribute to user experience design and technical solutions are essential.
This role also involves providing first-line support for developed applications, identifying and addressing issues, and contributing to continuous improvement. A proactive approach to knowledge sharing and a commitment to quality are key, as our systems play a vital role in processing over £160 billion annually.

Knowledge, skills and experience required:
Technical- data focused developer with the following skills:
- Experience as a BI Developer using the Microsoft BI stack including SQL Server (2012 - 2022), SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Power BI
- Strong SQL for querying and creation of tables/views and stored procedures
- Experience in designing ETL processes including knowledge of data warehousing strategies and theories
- Experience developing in Data Platform technologies in Azure such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Logic Apps and Blob Storage
- Build dashboards, reports and cubes using SQL, MDX, DAX and Power BI
- Develop new and maintain and improve existing ETL processes
- Understand dimension modelling ideally within a financial services sector
Demonstrable understanding of how to develop quality software through:
- Testing frameworks and practices, including meeting NFRs
- Use of appropriate principles and patterns along with writing clean and secure code
- Integrating with monitoring and alerting frameworks
Ways of Working and Tooling:
- Strong experience of agile development practices as part of a delivery squad/cell
- Strong experience and/or appreciation of agile project management software; e.g. Jira, TFS
- Strong experience and/or appreciation of Git based version control systems
- Strong experience and/or appreciation of CI/CD practices and tooling; e.g. TeamCity, Octopus, Azure DevOps, Jenkins
Support:
- Desirable experience providing third level support for production systems
