Are you passionate about improving outcomes for care-experienced children and young people? Do you have a strong background in Behaviour Analysis and trauma-informed approaches? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our innovative Placement Support Team within Bridgend County Borough Council's fostering service.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Behaviour Analyst to work as part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team supporting children living in foster care and those returning home through reunification. You will use your expertise to:

  • Deliver behaviour assessments and design personalised support plans
  • Provide direct therapeutic work with children and young people
  • Mentor and train foster carers and staff on behavioural strategies and trauma-informed practice
  • Collaborate with the wider network around the child to ensure consistent and effective support
  • Contribute to placement planning and help maintain placement stability

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference to children's lives by reducing placement breakdowns and enhancing the confidence and skills of those who care for them.

About You:

  • A Master's level qualification in Applied Behaviour Analysis (or equivalent)
  • Registration with Social Care Wales (or be eligible to register)
  • Experience of working with children who have experienced trauma and present with complex behaviours
  • Strong skills in designing, delivering, and evaluating behaviour support interventions
  • A positive, collaborative approach to working with carers, professionals, and families
  • Experience within fostering or community settings is desirable, but not essential.
  • The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.
  • Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.

An Enhanced with Adults & Children's Barred list criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.

Closing Date: 07 January 2026
