Job Description
Behaviour Inclusion Assistant

Ormiston Horizon Academy is seeking to appoint a behaviour inclusion assistant.

In this role, you will be responsible for behaviour, welfare, and learning while pupils are in attendance of the Academy's internal inclusion rooms. You will work actively with pupils to re establish expected conduct, re engage them with learning, and prepare them for a successful return to their classes.

Responsibilities
  • Supervising students: Providing a calm and focused environment during internal exclusion, encouraging them to complete work, and addressing behavioural concerns.
  • Liaising with teachers: Obtaining necessary resources and information to ensure pupils are kept engaged.
  • Maintaining the isolation room: Ensuring the room is clean, well organised, and conducive to learning.
  • Documentation: Logging behaviour incidents, preparing reports, and tracking student progress.
  • Contributing to strategies: Helping to develop and improve the school's internal exclusion procedures.
Qualifications
  • Experience with young people, particularly those with emotional or behavioural needs.
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with students, staff, and parents.
  • Strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Firm belief in inclusive education and equal opportunities.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with others.
  • Knowledge of school policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Ability to learn and implement behavioural management techniques and strategies.
