Batching Operative - Moore Concrete - Ballymena

Based outside Ballymena, the company supplies a comprehensive range of products to customers across the civil infrastructure, agricultural, and construction sectors throughout the UK and Ireland.


The Role

As a Batching Operative, you will play a key role in the production process, ensuring concrete is accurately batched to specification and supplied efficiently to the precast manufacturing facilities. Working with computer-controlled batching systems, you will help maintain the highest standards of quality, safety, and operational performance.


Hours of Work


Monday to Friday
40 hours per week
Shift pattern: 7:00am-4:00pm or 8:00am-5:00pm (to be confirmed)

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate computer-controlled batching plant equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Produce concrete mixes in line with required specifications and quality standards.
  • Carry out pre-start and pre-use inspections of plant and equipment.
  • Report any operational, maintenance, or safety concerns promptly.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, including end-of-shift wash-down procedures.
  • Adhere to all company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet production targets and deadlines.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the department.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace PPE requirements and COSHH regulations.

Criteria:

  • Previous experience in a similar manufacturing / health and safety environment or equivalent
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Awareness of COSHH regulations and safe working practices.
  • Understanding of workplace Health & Safety procedures.
