Barista
Posted 8 days 19 hours ago by Navolio-Limited-Off-to-Work
Are you the kind of barista who takes real pride in a perfectly pulled shot and a smile that makes someone's morning? If coffee is your craft and you love the buzz of a busy counter without the late nights, this could be exactly what you're looking for.
The roleYou'll be behind the counter at a corporate caterer in Kings Cross, crafting coffees and serving food to a steady stream of regulars who'll soon know your name and your usual chat. Expect to be busy during the morning and lunchtime rush, then have time to keep things ticking over nicely in between.
You'll get to know your brewing equipment inside out, learn about different beans and blends, and take real ownership of the quality that leaves your counter. You'll also be handling payments, keeping your area spotless, and working closely with a small team who genuinely support each other. It's hands on, sociable work where your attention to detail and your people skills both get to shine.
What's on offerYou'll earn £14.80 per hour, which is London Living Wage, on a permanent, full time basis working 37.5 hours a week.
Your hours are Monday to Friday, days only. No evenings, no weekends, no split shifts eating into your social life. That means your weekends are genuinely yours, every single week.
Beyond the pay and the hours, here's what you can expect:
- You'll be joining a company that properly invests in its people. That's not just words either, there are clear, genuine routes to progress your career if you want to grow, whether that's deepening your skills as a barista or moving into a supervisory role further down the line.
- You'll work somewhere that celebrates individuality rather than asking you to blend in, and recognises people who go above and beyond rather than letting good work go unnoticed.
- You'll be part of a close knit team environment where communication and support go both ways, not a revolving door of strangers.
- You'll build genuine barista skills that are transferable and valued across the industry, from brewing methods to food presentation, so this isn't just a job, it's a step in a proper hospitality career if that's the path you want.
We're after someone who genuinely enjoys people as much as they enjoy coffee. You'll need to be a natural communicator who builds rapport easily, whether that's with a regular who wants their usual or someone popping in for the first time. Previous Barista & customer service experience is important here, as is a hands on feel for brewing equipment, so you're comfortable behind a machine from day one.
You'll need to keep your cool when the counter gets busy, use your initiative to make good calls for customers without needing everything spelled out, and take real pride in your timekeeping and reliability. This is a role for someone who wants to do things properly, not just get through the shift.
You must have the right to work full time in the UK without restriction to be considered for this role.
If this sounds like your kind of role, we'd love to hear from you.
