Barista - Luma Coffee Shop, Cromwell Hospital, London SW5 0TU

Position type: Full Time, Permanent, 40 hours per week. Shift patterns: 5 out of 6 days, no Sundays.

Location: Cromwell Hospital, London SW5 0TU.

Salary: Up to £27,872.

Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Barista to join our Retail & Hospitality team at Luma Caffe within Cromwell Hospital. This role involves preparing and serving high-quality beverages and light food items while maintaining a welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and colleagues.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve high quality coffee, beverages, and light food items to brand standards.
  • Deliver a friendly, professional, and personalised customer experience.
  • Create a warm and welcoming environment for patients, visitors and colleagues.
  • Take ownership of customer requests and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Demonstrate strong product knowledge and recommend food and beverage options.
  • Support promotional activities and upselling opportunities.
  • Operate coffee machines and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Maintain exceptional cleanliness and presentation standards across front and back of house areas.
  • Monitor and replenish stock to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Follow all food safety, allergen, hygiene and health & safety procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support efficient and effective service delivery.
Key Skills / Qualifications
  • Previous barista experience or coffee training (essential).
  • Experience delivering exceptional customer service within a busy environment (essential).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (essential).
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced setting (essential).
  • Excellent attention to detail and presentation standards (essential).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team (essential).
  • Flexible approach to working shifts, weekends and holidays (essential).
  • Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and equipment (desirable).
  • Food Safety Level 2 qualification or willingness to obtain (desirable).
  • Experience working in a premium hospitality or healthcare environment (desirable).
