Banking and Finance Solicitor

Abacus has partnered with a leading law firm to appoint a Banking & Finance Solicitor. This is a highly respected firm with an outstanding reputation in the financial services sector and they want to enhance their existing team by appointing an ambitious solicitor with c. 1-5 years' PQE to access a range of high quality workstreams.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a market-leading team advising banks, financial institutions, corporate borrowers, and alternative lenders across a wide spectrum of financing transactions. You'll gain exposure to high-quality work, a supportive team environment, and clear progression opportunities. The ideal candidate will have experience across some (not necessarily all) of the following areas:

• Acquisition finance - acting for lenders and borrowers on leveraged and structured transactions.
• Corporate lending - bilateral and syndicated loan arrangements for corporate borrowers.
• Real estate finance - advising lenders and developers on secured lending for property transactions and developments.
• Asset finance - including equipment, aviation, or marine finance.
• Project and infrastructure finance - exposure to renewables or energy projects is desirable.
• Refinancing and restructuring - advising on amendments, waivers, and enforcement issues.
• Regulatory aspects of lending and security documentation (e.g., FCA requirements, consumer credit).

About you

• Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales / NI / Ireland).
• Indicatively c. 1-5 years' post-qualification experience within a recognised Banking & Finance team. Experience of restructuring is an advantage.
• Strong technical knowledge and drafting skills.
• Commercially minded with excellent client-handling ability.
• Motivated, collaborative, and eager to develop your expertise in complex financing work.
