Job Description

Clay Hill School are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join their Education team on a bank basis! We are looking for a versatile, resilient and committed Teaching Assistant who can adapt their practice wherever necessary.

Clay Hill School is an independent specialist day school for young people with autistic spectrum conditions (ASC) and associated complex needs. We provide education for young people aged 5 to 19 years.

As a Teaching Assistant, your primary objective will be to provide personalised educational assistance to a specific pupil in need of additional support. Your role will involve building a strong rapport with the pupil, understanding their individual needs, and implementing strategies to enhance their learning experience. You will work collaboratively with the school staff, parents, and other professionals to create a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes the pupil's overall development and success.

Responsibilities
  • Intervene and support a specific pupil requiring additional educational assistance.
  • Build and maintain a strong rapport with the pupil, understanding their individual needs.
  • Implement strategies to enhance the pupil's learning experience.
  • Collaborate with school staff, parents, and other professionals to provide a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience supporting in a classroom setting.
  • Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) appropriate to teaching and learning environment of learners and young adults.
