Bank Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

We are seeking compassionate, experienced professionals to join our Bank team within our integrated trust.

We are currently recruiting Bank Nurses to support the Emergency Department at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton, with opportunities available across Somerset.

As a fully integrated trust, working on the bank offers a collaborative and flexible approach to your career. You'll have the opportunity to work across different sites and directorates (where appropriate), helping you broaden your skills and knowledge while maintaining control over when and where you work.

Bank shifts are offered on a flexible rota basis and may include nights and weekends, allowing you to fit work around your existing commitments.

You will need:

  • Current NMC registration
  • Previous hospital based nursing experience
  • A team focused approach
  • The ability to deliver a consistently high standard of patient care

Main duties of the job

To provide and maintain a high standard of evidence based, patient centred care. To demonstrate good interpersonal skills and to develop practical skills required within the speciality, whist reflecting the philosophy of care.To deliver patient care on a daily basis, using the systems in place in the department for a multi-disciplinary approach to patient-centred care delivery, which builds on the philosophy of greater involvement of patients and their relatives/carers by using the Trusts patient and public involvement strategy.Experienced Band 5 post holders will also provide effective clinical and managerial leadership of the department, in the absence of the senior members of the team, which empowers staff to deliver patient- centred, evidence based nursing care

Person Specification Qualifications
  • NMC Registration
  • Associated training for emergency nursing, such as but not limited to: Immediate Life Support (Adult + Paeds), Trauma training, Triage training to the latest national standard, IV Administration, Cannulation and Venepuncture and ECG Interpretation.
Experience
  • Previous NHS Emergency Department work experience or equivalent experience in an acute/emergency care department.
