Job Description
Job Summary

Bank Pharmacy Technician - HMP Whatton, Category C Prison, Nottinghamshire.

HMP Whatton is a male adult prison with a capacity of 855. The pharmacy team consists of five staff and will be based within the healthcare department, with some wing work required.

Hours & Pay
  • Monday - Sunday service
  • Weekdays 7.30 am - 6.30 pm
  • Weekdays 7.30 am - 3.30 pm (alternative shift)
  • Weekend 8.30 am - 5.30 pm
  • Weekday - £21.76 per hour
  • Weekends - £23.61 per hour
  • Bank Holidays - £28.33 per hour

Main Duties
  • Provide outstanding quality, patient centred care to patients, seeking out, listening to, and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
  • Focus on a safe and secure medicines management service, ensuring patient medical records are maintained to agreed standards and that standard operating procedures are followed to a high and orderly standard.
  • Deliver non judgemental care within professional standards, from timely administration of medicines to analysing cost effective prescribing as defined through our unique Health in Justice medicines policy.
  • Make a real difference by working as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 3 or above, BTEC or equivalent
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Up to date with continual professional development (CPD)
  • Relevant post qualification pharmacy experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work unsupervised while following policy and procedures

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
