Bank Pharmacy Technician

Spire Harpenden Hospital is looking for a Pharmacy Technician to join our bank. The successful candidate will support the department in the provision of pharmacy services, including ordering, stock control and the preparation of drugs and medicines, ensuring patient safety and cost effective care.
Main duties of the job- Assist in assessing people's health and wellbeing within the context of their medicines.
- Move and manage medicines, ensuring proper storage and dispensing.
- Establish and maintain communication with patients and staff about pharmacy activities and medicines.
- Assist with the procurement of pharmaceutical stock for the pharmacy and other departments using appropriate electronic systems.
- Participate in pharmacy and departmental stock takes.

Job responsibilities- Provide an exemplary specialist technical service to support the pharmacy department and other areas of the hospital that stock medicines, working within own level of competence and in accordance with current legislation, accepted professional and ethical standards, and Spire Healthcare policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the safe and effective use of medicines, ensuring cost efficiency.
- Assist in delivering pharmaceutical care to meet patients' health and wellbeing needs.
- Assist in assessing people's health and wellbeing within the context of their medicines.
- Move and manage medicines.
- Establish and maintain communication with people about pharmacy activities and medicines.
- Assist with the procurement of pharmaceutical stock for the pharmacy and other departments using appropriate electronic systems.
- Participate in pharmacy and departmental stock takes.
- NVQ Level 3 Pharmacy Service or equivalent (required).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good team player with proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required.
- Desirable: experience working in a hospital environment (community experience considered).
