Bank GP Receptionist

We are looking to recruit a reliable and experienced Bank GP Surgery Receptionist to provide short-term cover within our busy and friendly GP practice.

This role is primarily to support the Reception team on Thursdays and Fridays, with shifts available between 8:00am and 6:30pm. Additional shifts may also become available to cover annual leave, sickness absence, and other staffing requirements.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have previous GP surgery reception experience and be confident working within a primary care environment.

Essential criteria include:

• Previous experience working as a Receptionist within a GP Practice.
• Experience using SystmOne.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work calmly and effectively in a busy environment.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Understanding of patient confidentiality and data protection requirements.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Main Duties

• Greeting and assisting patients in a professional and courteous manner.
• Managing incoming and outgoing telephone calls.
• Booking, amending and cancelling appointments using SystmOne and Anima
• Processing patient requests and enquiries.
• Handling prescriptions and clinical correspondence in accordance with practice procedures.
• Supporting clinicians and the wider practice team with administrative tasks.
• Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring confidentiality at all times.

Hours

• Primarily Thursdays and Fridays.
• Shifts available between 08:00 and 18:30.
• Additional ad hoc shifts may be available depending on practice requirements and staff cover needs.
