Bank Domestic Assistant

Dinas Lane Medical Centre is seeking a reliable and motivated Bank Domestic Assistant to join our tea. In this flexible as needed position, you will provide essential cleaning and domestic support to ensure our practice remains a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for patients and staff.
Main duties of the job- Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the medical centre
- Clean clinical and non clinical areas following established hygiene procedures
- Safely use cleaning products and equipment
- Replenish supplies and report any maintenance issues
- Follow infection prevention and control guidelines
- Work collaboratively with the wider practice team.
Dinas Lane Medical Centre is a forward-thinking, friendly practice with a strong multidisciplinary team. We have4Partners, 3 Salaried GPs, 2 ARRS GPs, 2 Practice Nurses, 1 Associate Practitioner, and a Pharmacist, all supported by our dedicated administrative team.
We are part of the South and Central Primary Care Network (PCN), a collaboration of 10 practices workingtogether to enhance patient care. Through the PCN, we offer access to a fully staffed Enhanced Access (EA) service and an extended team including First Contact Practitioners, a Mental Health Practitioner, a Social Prescribing Link Worker, Pharmacists, and Pharmacy Technicians.

Job responsibilitiesCleaning and Hygiene
- Clean all designated areas of the medical centre including clinical rooms, waiting areas, bathrooms, corridors and offices
- Follow strict infection control (IPC) procedures at all times
- Safely use cleaning equipment and products in accordance with COSHH regulations
- Ensure hygiene standards comply with NHS and practice guidelines
Operational Responsibilities
- Replenish stock such as soap, hand towels, PPE and cleaning supplies
- Safely dispose of waste including clinical waste where applicable
- Reports faults, hazards, or maintenance issues promptly to management
- Maintain cleaning schedules, checklists and documentation as required
General
- Work independently to manage time and priorities effectively
- Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold professional boundaries
- Represent the practice positively and communicate respectfully with staff and patients
- Undertake any training relevant to your role provide by the practice and the PCN
Safeguarding Responsibilities'
- Understand and adhere to the practices safeguarding policies
- Report any concerns regarding patient or staff welfare to the Safeguarding Lead or Practice Manager
Health and Safety
- Follow all health and safety protocols including correct use of PPE
- Ensure safe handling of chemicals follwoing COSHH requirements
- Bring any concerns about safety or risk to management immediately
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Experience in a cleaning or domestic role (any sector)
- Understanding of basic cleaning methods and hygiene standards
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Reliable and punctual
- Flexible, able to work at short notice
- Trustworthy and able to maintain confidentiality
- Able to work independently
- Friendly and professional manner
- Ability to carry out physical tasks required for cleaning duties
- Willingness to undertake mandatory training
- Cleaning or COSHH training
- IPC training
- Experience in a healthcare or clinical environment
- Knowledge of COSHH regulations
- Understanding of Infection Control procedures (IPC)
- Demonstrates commitment to personal development
- Ability to adapt to changes of service needs
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
