Salary & Allowances

Band 3 - £29,103 - £31,409 pro rata

Plus £1,461 Distant Islands Allowance pro rata

Shifts

7.00 am - 2.00 pm & 12.30 pm - 7.30 pm

Responsibilities
  • Produce and serve high quality meals for patients, staff and external customers.
  • Interpret and manage all operational aspects of the kitchen and associated areas, including deliveries, preparation, storage rooms and wash up.
  • Supervise staff working in these areas.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Preferred experience within a commercial/industrial background (not essential).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food hygiene and HACCP regulations.
  • Good all round food preparation and leadership skills.
  • City & Guilds 706/1, 706/2 or SVQ level 3 (catering / professional cookery) required.
  • Intermediate food hygiene certificate essential.
  • Positive, flexible approach, strong communication and a self motivated attitude.
  • Capacity to work flexible shift patterns, including weekends.

Additional Information

As from 1/4/2026, the Agenda for Change full time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be adjusted on a pro rata basis.
