Bank Catering Assistant

To supplement our permanent Catering team, our team of 'bank staff provides cover for planned and unplanned shortfalls in staffing, covering vacancies and staff absences. We are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced bank Catering Assistant to provide operational cover within the hospice kitchens, as and when required, as part of our Facilities team.

£12.71 per hour

Ad hoc, flexible working hours

The role:

Working in a busy hospice environment, the role will support the effective running of our Catering service during periods of staff leave, absences and during busy periods. We work over a 7-day rota, between 08.30 and 13.30 including weekends. Our Catering Assistants provide a high standard of catering to patients, staff and visitors to the hospice. Duties would include assisting in the preparation of food, whilst ensuring the food preparation areas and equipment are kept clean. Uniform will be provided and subsidised meals are available to staff at Bolton Hospice.

What you need:

We are looking for someone with experience of working within a catering environment, ideally with experience in a clinical or care home setting. hold a Level 2 Food Safety certificate (or be willing to gain this qualification on appointment). You must be able to work well in a team and have good interpersonal and communication skills, along with a non-judgmental and empathetic approach. Flexibility, high personal standards and a commitment to the vision and values of Bolton Hospice are essential.
