+ make a difference for every patient

We're looking for a friendly, organised and customer-focused Bank Administrator to join our team and help deliver an exceptional experience for our patients.

As part of our Administration Team, you'll play a vital role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of hospital services, ensuring patients, visitors and colleagues receive a professional, efficient and welcoming service at every interaction. You'll work across a variety of administrative functions, helping to keep patient pathways moving and supporting the delivery of outstanding patient care.

This is a Bank role; however, we are particularly interested to hear from candidates who can commit to working at least 3-4 days per week, or who are specifically looking for regular weekend work. The role offers flexibility while providing valuable experience within a busy healthcare environment.

What you'll be doing
  • Providing an efficient appointment booking service for patients across outpatient and theatre services.
  • Handling telephone enquiries from patients, GP surgeries and colleagues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Supporting patients with appointment queries both over the phone and face-to-face.
  • Contacting patients to offer earlier appointments and supporting the management of internal waiting lists.
  • Processing referrals and maintaining accurate patient records using the Patient Administration System (PAS).
  • Monitoring clinic and theatre lists to help maximise capacity and support RTT targets.
  • Coordinating outpatient clinics and ensuring documentation is prepared and available when required.
  • Working collaboratively with departments across the hospital to ensure patients receive a seamless service.
What we'll look for in you
  • Previous healthcare administration experience would be highly desirable, with an understanding of patient pathways and the importance of delivering excellent patient care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a professional and compassionate approach.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Confidence using computer systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • The ability to prioritise workload, manage competing demands and remain calm under pressure.
  • A flexible approach to work, with availability to support weekday and/or weekend shifts.
  • A genuine commitment to providing outstanding service and contributing positively to a team environment.
What you can expect in return:
  • An hourly rate of £12.72
  • Work within our friendly and professional team
