Band 8a Estates Manager (Operations)

In this senior role, you will support the Head of Estates throughout the whole range of Estate functions with specific responsibility for day-to-day Estates operations, statutory compliance, capital maintenance, management software, PPMs, in-house team and contractors, and buildings and engineering services.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder will provide the Head of Estates with professional & technical engineering advice and information as required. In conjunction with the Estates Manager (Compliance), deputise for the Head of Estates in all professional matters.

- Degree in Engineering, Building Related subjects, or related experience
- Corporate Member of a recognised professional organisation, Chartered Engineer (C Eng)
- MBA in Business Management
- Significant experience at a senior level in building services management
- Experience managing a high-quality, responsive, and cost-effective estates service with a focus on customer satisfaction
- Involvement in facilities processes
- Comprehensive knowledge of building services maintenance
- Financial analysis and management skills
- Effective decision-making skills
- Knowledge of the NHS, its structures, and objectives, and their application within the Trust
- Effective communication with staff at all levels
- Negotiating skills for both short-term and long-term objectives
- Confidence in communicating with internal and external bodies
- Ability to motivate staff and delegate responsibilities while maintaining accountability
- Ability to meet deadlines and budgets
- Ability to obtain value for money
- Willing to undertake on-call duties

Salary: £61,927 to £68,676 per year, inclusive of HCAS.
