Band 7 Mental Health Practitioner/Non-Medical Prescriber

The CAMHS Neurodevelopmental (ND) Pathway are seeking an experienced registered nurse/Non-medical Prescriber (NMP) or Mental Heath Practitioner (MHP) to join our diverse and innovative multi-disciplinary team to provide ADHD and Autism assessments for young people.
The post holder will work alongside a multidisciplinary team, undertaking responsibility for ND assessment, diagnosis & initiation of treatment, including medication if an NMP.
The NMP/MHP will work in a variety of settings, working closely with Paediatricians, SALTs and liaising with CAMHS colleagues for selected cases to support an integrated delivery of quality care. They will manage their own caseload but will also supervise and assist the ongoing development of the other team members.
As a band 7 neurodevelopmental specialist nurse, you would need to be qualified and experienced as a non-medical prescriber. They will work closely with the paediatricians to effectively monitor and review medications used for ADHD. The successful candidate would independently run nurse led clinics to facilitate this.
As a band 7 MHP you would need to have experience in working with young people who are diagnosed as having ADHD or as being autistic and being experienced in assessing for autism and ADHD. As an NMP/MHP, the role would require the applicant to support in the assessment and management of children and young people with ADHD (Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder) and ASD (Autistic spectrum disorder).
Main duties of the jobAs a MHP/Non-medical Prescriber (NMP), the post holder will undertake the assessment and diagnosis of CYP within neurodevelopmental services.
If the post holder is a NMP you will also hold a medication caseload and assess physical health and monitoring in line with safe prescribing will be undertaken.
The post holder will work within the outpatient service, undertaking initial assessments of new referrals alongside MDT colleagues, plus co-working with colleagues within the MDT as required.
As a senior clinician provision of clinical supervision and line management of staff will also be undertaken in accordance with NMC and trust policies.
Working hours will be mainly Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm.
