About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Back-End Developers to join our client's dynamic team in Dundrum, Dublin. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining the server-side logic of our web applications. Your expertise will ensure high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end, contributing to the overall success of our digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust server-side applications and APIs.
• Integrate user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server-side logic.
• Optimise applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• Implement security and data protection measures.
• Design and manage database schemas that represent and support business processes.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software.
• Collaborate with front-end developers, designers, and other team members to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve development practices.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Back-End Developer or similar role.
• Proficiency in server-side languages such as Java, Python, Ruby, PHP, or Node.js.
• Experience with frameworks like Spring, Django, Ruby on Rails, Laravel, or Express.js.
• Strong understanding of database management systems, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for seamless integration.
• Knowledge of version control systems, particularly Git.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Desirable Attributes

• Experience with containerisation technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture.
