AWS PLATFORM ENGINEER

We are looking for a highly skilled AWS Platform Engineer to design and build secure, scalable, and enterprise-grade cloud platforms. This role focuses on creating reusable cloud foundations, enabling engineering teams through self-service capabilities, and enforcing governance through automation.
You will work at the core of our cloud platform, building landing zones, control planes, and secure connectivity patterns across complex environments.

Key Responsibilities
Design and build AWS landing zones across multi-account, multi-organization environments
Develop and maintain reusable Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform
Contribute to and enhance the Cloud Management Engine (Control Plane)
Implement automated guardrails and golden patterns to enforce best practices
Design and build secure ingress and egress connectivity patterns
Standardise DNS, routing, and traffic segmentation across environments
Design and automate cross-cloud and intra-cloud connectivity
Implement a unified IAM model across AWS accounts and services
Build and manage Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions
Define and implement secure landing zone baselines
Enable regulatory-compliant architectures (eg, security, audit, governance controls)
Build Kubernetes-based control planes for platform services
Develop custom Kubernetes controllers and APIs in Go (Golang)

Required Skills & Experience
Strong experience designing and implementing AWS platform architectures at scale
Deep knowledge of multi-account AWS environments (Organizations, Control Tower or equivalent)
Advanced proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure automation
Experience building platform engineering solutions and internal developer platforms
Strong understanding of network design (VPCs, Transit Gateway, routing, segmentation)
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (EKS or similar)
Proficiency in Golang for building APIs, controllers, or platform tooling
Solid understanding of IAM, access control, and security architecture
Experience implementing secure connectivity patterns (ingress/egress, zero-trust principles)
Knowledge of cloud governance, compliance, and policy enforcement

Desirable Skills
AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, Security Specialty)
Experience with cross-cloud architectures (eg, AWS + Azure or GCP)
Familiarity with service mesh technologies (eg, Istio, Linkerd)
Experience with policy-as-code (eg, OPA, Sentinel)
Exposure to FinOps and cloud cost optimisation strategies
Experience building developer self-service platforms
