Job Description

Position: AVP, Modeling - United Kingdom

This role offers a senior opportunity to shape and advance a critical actuarial modeling platform supporting enterprise-wide financial, risk, and capital management functions. You will play a key role in building and scaling a modern actuarial modeling ecosystem that underpins long-range projections, embedded value, capital frameworks, and pricing applications. Working in a highly technical and collaborative environment, you will partner closely with model developers, actuaries, and end users to ensure modeling solutions are accurate, scalable, and production-ready. The position requires strong ownership across model design, validation, governance, and lifecycle management. You will contribute directly to the evolution of a rapidly expanding internal platform that replaces legacy systems with modern, automated, and auditable capabilities. This is a high-impact role suited for someone who thrives at the intersection of actuarial science, technology, and enterprise risk management.

Accountabilities
  • Support the development, expansion, and stabilization of an enterprise actuarial modeling platform used across financial, capital, and risk functions.
  • Collaborate with model developers and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of modeling capabilities aligned with business priorities.
  • Oversee model design, data structure integrity, actuarial code changes, and pipeline automation to ensure robustness and scalability.
  • Test, validate, and ensure consistency across cross-module model enhancements and system integrations.
  • Ensure the platform supports key enterprise use cases, including long-range projections, embedded value, capital requirements, pricing, and balance sheet analysis.
  • Contribute to model governance by documenting methodologies, changes, and ensuring compliance with internal review standards.
  • Maintain a strong model development lifecycle framework, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and auditability.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
  • 7+ years of actuarial or financial modeling experience within life insurance, annuities, or asset liability management environments.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, GitHub, and modern actuarial or financial modeling tools.
  • Experience working with large, complex datasets and translating analytical outputs into business insights and decisions.
  • Strong understanding of actuarial modeling frameworks, capital modeling, and enterprise financial reporting processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, evolving technical environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and business teams.
  • Experience with open source development practices, CI/CD pipelines, or AI assisted code validation is a plus.
  • Prior experience transitioning from vendor based modeling systems to internally developed platforms is preferred.
Benefits
  • Annual performance based bonus in addition to base compensation.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including healthcare coverage and additional employee support programs.
  • Opportunity to work on a cutting edge actuarial modeling platform with enterprise wide impact.
  • Exposure to advanced modeling technologies, automation frameworks, and modern development practices.
  • Inclusive and collaborative culture focused on long term professional growth and technical excellence.
