Our client, an Aerospace and Defence supplier, is seeking an Avionics Mechanical Design Engineer for a contract role at their site in Broughton.

Applicants must hold sole British nationality and be eligible for full SC Clearance.

• 12-month initial contract.
• Location: Chester, with 60% remote work possible.
• Inside IR35, rates negotiable.

This role is suitable for an experienced aircraft avionic or mechanical engineer familiar with data configuration, storage, and referencing, with high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with modification Design Engineers to produce modification documentation.
• Manage design data using Windchill PDM and network files.
• Create certification evidence forms and letters for modification approval.
• Develop test documentation and analytical reports.
• Prepare modification control documentation.
• Ensure all activities comply with company, site procedures, and relevant governance standards.

Skills and Experience

• Recent experience in aircraft avionic and mechanical system design, integration, and certification.
• Knowledge of aircraft design regulations.
• Experience working in multi-disciplinary aerospace engineering teams.
• Understanding of aircraft systems.
• Knowledge of military and civil aircraft modification and certification processes.
