Role Title: Automation Tester

Location: Northampton

Duration: 31/12/2025

Rate to SSC (including supplier charge): 250 £

Pay: £230

IR35 status: Capgemini Mandated PAYE

Must be PAYE through umbrella.

Role Description:

• Under minimal supervision, create automation scripts, including estimates, scripts, and pre/post conditioning.
• Execute automated tests and collate evidence for progress reporting and tracking.
• Communicate test results, data used, and defects to project stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities:

• Participate in discussions with the functional team to understand Gherkin tests and required conditions.
• Create query logs, mind maps, and flowcharts.
• Develop automation code using Java, Selenium, JQuery, and Cucumber.
• Set up and execute automated tests, recording evidence.
• Raise detailed defect reports.
• Handover stabilized scripts to release and feature teams.
• Maintain communication with stakeholders to track deliverables and escalate issues as needed.
• Complete tasks within schedule.
• Guide team members on technology and application queries.

Person Specification:

• Experience with automation testing using Selenium, Java, Cucumber, and JQuery.
• Exposure to Agile methodologies, Jenkins setup, and banking domain knowledge.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to assess complex automation problems quickly, with knowledge of HTML DOM and application structure.
