Automation Engineer - Hauts de France - 12 Months - Freelance

Hiring: Automation Engineer - Amiens, Hauts-de-France - Hybrid, 12 months contract.

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Engineer with a strong background in Rockwell Automation systems to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex problems, and has a passion for industrial automation. Must be based in France and have a setup or be open to setup own freelance company.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automation systems using Rockwell PLCs (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, etc.)
• Perform root-cause analysis on system failures and implement corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot and optimise existing automation code across various platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system performance and reliability.
• Document system architecture, code changes, and technical procedures.
• Support commissioning and start-up activities for new automation projects.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in all automation processes.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience with Rockwell Automation systems (mandatory).
• Strong proficiency in PLC programming, especially with Rockwell platforms.
• Solid understanding of industrial automation principles and practices.
• Ability to read, interpret, and modify automation code.
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Experience conducting root-cause analysis and implementing long-term solutions.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Siemens automation systems (TIA Portal, S7).
• Experience with HMI/SCADA systems.
• Knowledge of industrial networking and communication protocols.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field.

• Rate range: 50-70EUR per hour
