Job Description

As an Application Support Engineer Automation, you will help customers support their critical applications built on Rockwell Automation technologies through technical expertise to reduce skills gaps, consultancy to improve their operational efficiency and support in their times of need.

You will report to the Application Support Supervisor EMEA. This is a hybrid work schedule role located in Milton Keynes, UK. However, you may need to work in other Rockwell Automation offices. You will work on customer sites to support customer contractual obligations in both UK & Europe.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Lead the resolution of customer issues through problem replication and collaboration with different teams.
  • Coordinate with escalation groups (product development, project delivery teams, third parties, customer application owners) to ensure accurate information transfer for issue resolution.
  • Document all activities and communications in our call handling database to ensure comprehensive and interpretable information for support staff.
  • Create and maintaining knowledgebase articles and other documentation, participating in technical reviews to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Collaborate with business development teams to scope and technically review proposals for new application support agreements.
  • Visit customer sites for troubleshooting, information gathering and building relationships, including delivering customer coaching.
  • You will be part of the on-call rotation to support customers out of office hours in urgent situations.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • 3+ years of previous customer support, or technical role experience, with a core knowledge of the FactoryTalk suite of products, focused on application code level troubleshooting or development including the following areas:
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Industrial Controls Systems
  • VMWare or other Virtualization environment.
  • Cisco/Stratix Switches (CLI)
  • Degree level education in one of the following: Electrical / Electronic Engineering Control Engineering or Automation or Computer science or IT.
  • High-level verbal and written English and Polish language skills with technical subjects.
  • Proficiency with programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
  • This role is suitable for applicants based in Poland with readiness to travel across Europe and UK.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • Proficiency with other European language.
  • Experience with a relational database such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle
  • Experience in version control tools.
