Job Description
Role

We are looking for a candidate to provide a comprehensive audio typing service to the Maternity & Gynaecology Team. The role involves transcription of dictation received from outpatient clinics, letters, discharge summaries and processing SCI Gateway referrals. The candidate will also enter data onto clinical systems, upload files to Clinical Portal (EPR), ensure compliance with quality standards and timescales, provide telephone cover within the department and support improved productivity through digital tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transcription of dictation from outpatient clinics, letters, medical reports and discharge summaries.
  • Data entry onto clinical systems to support patient follow up requirements.
  • Filing clinic letters via Winscribe into Clinical Portal (EPR).
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and turnaround times.
  • Provide telephone cover within the department.
  • Scanning documents onto Clinical Portal.
  • Processing SCI Gateway referrals.
  • Printing all typed letters.
  • Shared responsibility for Health & Safety in the office area.
  • Participate in Personal Development Planning & Review.
  • Comply with GDPR, Health Records Act, Freedom of Information Act and associated legislation.
  • Undertake statutory and mandatory training as required.
  • Promote NHS Scotland core values in the discharge of duties.
  • Act as a role model for NHSGGC organisational values.
Qualifications
  • Secretarial Studies certificate with advanced keyboard skills and accurate transcription speeds.
  • Proven proficiency in English and medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of PC Office software packages.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
