About the roleAshton Community Science College continues to be a Good School (Ofsted 2023). We are looking for a dedicated, skilled and ambitious professional to join our pastoral and support team as Attendance Manager. The post is paid on Grade 7 (point 19-25), for 37 hours per week, term time plus two days. Salary ranges from £32,061 - £36,363, pro rata £27,392 - £31,068, subject to the 26/27 NJC pay award.

The Governors are seeking to appoint an Attendance Manager who shares this vision and will play a key role in removing barriers to attendance through a supportive and relational approach.
Key responsibilitiesThis pivotal role is centred on developing and embedding an inclusive, whole school attendance culture. You will lead on monitoring, analysing attendance and implementing strategies that prioritise early intervention, student engagement, and strong partnerships with families. Our approach focuses on understanding the underlying causes of absence and working collaboratively to support sustainable improvements. You must manage a varied workload, work independently and as part of a team, and work closely with pastoral staff, senior leaders and external partners to ensure that all pupils, particularly those at risk of persistent or severe absence, receive the support they need to succeed. Building strong, empathetic relationships with parents/carers while maintaining high expectations is essential.
