Job Description

NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

An exciting opportunity has arisen (due to retirement) to lead the nursing workforce across Argyll and Bute Health and Social Care Partnership. This role will play an essential part in the ongoing development of our incredible nursing workforce, and provide leadership and transformation of some of the most critical services for our communities in our integrated health and social care system.

Argyll and Bute Health and Social Care Partnership covers one of the most complex areas in Scotland, with 23 inhabited islands, six main towns, remote communities and an ageing and declining population. Our Integration Joint Board is responsible for all health and care services, from social care to acute, as delegated by NHS Highland and Argyll and Bute Council. Our leadership team is integrated across NHS Highland and Argyll and Bute Council, though this is an NHS Highland post.

We are realistic about our challenges, and are tackling these as a team of talented, professional, innovative and creative people who are committed to doing their very best for those who rely on us for their most personal needs. We are based firmly in our communities and working closely with colleagues in primary and secondary care, third and independent sector, strengthening and building relationships every day.

The successful candidate will share responsibility for professional and strategic leadership across Argyll and Bute. As a core member of the senior management and clinical leadership team, the Associate Nurse Director will work directly with the Chief Officer, Associate Medical Director, Associate AHP Director and Chief Social Work Officer to take forward the IJB's refreshed strategic plan.

We are looking for a senior nurse, who is energetic and ambitious, committed, collegiate and innovative and has a proven track record in clinical and care governance, professional standards, values-based leadership, operational management and transformational change. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to make a career defining impact, taking a leadership role in our culture journey, supporting our workforce to thrive and transforming the health and wellbeing of our communities.

We look forward to hearing from you.

This is a permanent full time post working 37 hours per week in accordance with service requirements.
