Associate Director I

The Associate Director I (AD I) position will operate under the supervision of the Director to support live Studio, Remote, and REMI productions by assisting with the execution and timing of the show, as well as the preparation and assembly of show elements. The AD I will contribute to content ideas based on developing storylines across sports. Strong multi-tasking, communication skills, and leadership qualities are essential.
Responsibilities:- Assist the Director during production by timing elements, keying fonts, and coordinating feeds. Maintain communication with live shots by providing alerts and cues, ensuring proper framing, audio, and video levels meet on-air standards.
- During Ignite/Automated productions, assist in routing, papping, framing, and clearing remote guests; select music for studio productions; MOS into the rundown; assist the Director with checking codes and rundown changes.
- Communicate traffic changes, graphics requests, music cues, and source changes with media.
- Assist in pre-production elements including billboards, promotions, teases, graphics, special effects, and virtual imagery; coordinate video and fonts within the production.
- Work with the Director and Production staff to request images and monitor graphics supporting storylines; execute studio moves with requested elements or discuss live execution with the director.
- Verify locations of guests (remote and studio) with Audio and Transmission/VCC by providing necessary paperwork.
- Collaborate with lead Directors on special graphics and animations for specialty shows.
- Participate in meetings to develop visual content for the show.
- Assist the Director, Producer, and Coordinating Producer with PCR setup, including communication systems and monitoring build.
- On REMI productions, assist in managing game-related responsibilities and traffic, communicating with relevant personnel to ensure synchronization, and generate promotional cards for on-air talent. Run preproduction sessions.
- Stage manage studio-related productions when needed, both in-house and remote.
- Train newer Associate Directors, providing detailed feedback and supporting their development.
- Engage in personal development through observation and training, familiarizing with other control room roles and equipment.
- Maintain performance standards in leadership, communication, operations, and production, demonstrating strong leadership qualities in all interactions and decisions.
- Minimum 1 year of related work experience.
- Thorough understanding of television production.
- Clear, concise verbal communication skills.
- Ability to think quickly under pressure.
- Hardworking, detail-oriented, passionate about production, interested in technical areas, and creative.
- At least 3 years of production experience or network-level experience.
- Directing and automation experience.
- Experience in a school control room.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English (preferred).
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
