Job Description

Associate Project Manager
Location: London (Hybrid)
Salary: Up to £90,000 + package

A leading consultancy is seeking an experienced Associate Project Manager to join its Project Management team in London to work within their life sciences team. This is an opportunity to take a senior role within a highly collaborative environment, delivering major complex building projects across a diverse portfolio.

In this role, you will lead the successful delivery of significant capital projects for both public and private sector clients. A core focus will be on complex scientific research laboratories, life sciences facilities, healthcare environments and other technically demanding sectors such as higher education and data centres. Experience in delivering laboratories is essential.

Due to the nature of some projects within the science and technology sector, the ability to obtain UK Government SC security clearance is required.

Key responsibilities:
  • Leading and delivering complex building projects, particularly within life sciences, laboratories, healthcare, education and data centres.
  • Overseeing multidisciplinary design and contractor teams through the full project lifecycle.
  • Managing client, partner and supplier contracts while nurturing strong long-term relationships.
  • Identifying and mitigating commercial and reputational risks.
  • Chairing project meetings, tracking progress and ensuring delivery against agreed outcomes.
  • Supporting governance processes, gateway approvals and development of business cases.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience delivering complex building projects, including laboratories and life sciences facilities.
  • Strong understanding of design, procurement and construction processes.
  • Degree in a relevant field such as engineering, project management, construction management or quantity surveying, with membership of a recognised professional body (APM, RICS, ICE, RIBA, CIOB or similar).
  • Experience within advisory and consulting disciplines, including bidding and work winning.
  • Strong stakeholder and client management skills, with the ability to engage effectively in complex organisational environments.
  • Team leadership and the ability to guide and motivate project teams.

If you are looking for a senior position delivering impactful and technically challenging projects across the science, health and education sectors, this role offers exceptional scope and progression.
