Associate - Banking - Manchester

We are seeking a talented banking and finance lawyer to join our market-leading team in Manchester advising major UK banks (including Lloyds, RBS, HSBC, Santander) and alternative lenders (such as ThinCats, OakNorth, Beechbrook Capital).
Role highlights- Advise clients on legal aspects of banking contracts and arrangements, including acquisition finance, property finance, asset-based lending, restructuring, and refinancing.
- Draft and negotiate facility agreements (bilateral and syndicated) and other key documentation.
- Lead and support banking transactions, attend client meetings, project manage deals, supervise junior team members, and coordinate with overseas lawyers.
- Develop business by building relationships with key bankers in Manchester and supporting marketing efforts across the North West, Nottingham, Birmingham, and London.
- Solid knowledge of banking law and relevant finance areas.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and project management skills.
- Commercial mindset with a focus on client needs and solutions.
- Interest in financial sector developments and legal updates.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to master complex contracts.
- Team player with initiative, able to supervise and delegate.
- Good IT skills and familiarity with online research tools.
