TheRole

We'relooking for an Assistant Manager to join our Papanui team. You'll playa pivotal role in supporting the Store Manager to keep the store runningsmoothly day-to-day, while still staying hands-on with customers and teammembers.

This is anexciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced retailenvironment, enjoys coaching and developing people, and wants to grow theirleadership skills while making a real impact on sales and team culture.

• Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday: 8:30-17:45, Tuesday: 8:30-16:00, Wednesday: 10:30-17:45, Thursday: 8:30-17:45, Sunday: 8:30-17:45)

WhatYou'll Deliver in This Role

• CustomerExperience & Service Leadership: You'll embrace our Every Day GreatExperience (EDGE) framework, ensuring every shopper feels welcomed, supported,and inspired. You'll lead by example on the shop floor, coaching team membersand stepping in to handle escalations professionally.
• TeamCoaching & People Development: You'll support the Store Manager in leadingthe team, running shifts, and ensuring staff are set up for success. You'llcoach, train, and motivate team members, reinforcing best practices andproviding constructive feedback, while building a positive, engaged teamculture.
• OperationalExcellence: You'll help oversee the smooth running of the store, managing stockflow, merchandising, compliance, and health & safety standards. You'll takeownershipof key operational tasks during shifts, including opening andclosing, cash handling, reporting, and rostering.
• Sales& Performance: You'll support the Store Manager in achieving sales andmargin targets, monitoring daily performance, and driving opportunities tomaximise results. You'll use insights and reporting to help shape actions thatboost sales, manage stock effectively, and reduce shrinkage.

WhatYou'll Bring to the Role

• Atleast two years of retail or customer-facing experience
• Atleast two years of supervisory or leadership experience
• Strongcustomer service skills with the ability to lead by example on the shop floor
• Confidencein coaching, training, and motivating team members
• Solidorganisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
• A collaborative and proactiveapproach, with the drive to deliver results and support store success
