Job Description

Our client is a well-established and respected London-based cost consultancywith a strong portfolio of high-end residential, commercial and hotel projects.They are known for delivering tailored, high-quality cost management and advisory services to a discerning client base, including developers, private clients, and institutional investors.

Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are now looking to recruit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their collaborative team in Central London.

The Role:

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to gain exposure to some of London's most prestigious and design-led projects. The successful candidate will support the project team in all aspects of cost management, from early-stage feasibility through to final account.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the preparation of cost estimates, cost plans, and feasibility studies.

  • Supporting the production of tender documentation and Bills of Quantities.

  • Involvement in procurement activities and contract administration.

  • Preparing valuations, interim applications, and final accounts.

  • Supporting cost control and change management throughout the project life cycle.

  • Attending site meetings and liaising with clients, contractors, and consultants.

  • Assisting in the preparation of financial reports and project updates.

  • Ensuring all work complies with internal QA procedures and industry standards.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Degree qualified (or working towards) in Quantity Surveying or a related field.

  • Ideally 1-2 years' experience in a cost consultancy or contractor environment.

  • Passion for high-end and design-focused projects.

  • Progressing towards or eager to start the APC pathway (RICS).

  • Good understanding of construction methods, contracts, and procurement routes.

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with attention to detail.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with cost software (e.g. CostX, Bluebeam) is an advantage.

  • Professional, confident, and capable of representing the business in front of clients.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
