Assistant Professor (Teaching & Scholarship) in Transport Planning

Position Overview

Assistant Professor (Teaching & Scholarship) in Transport Planning. Full time, permanent. Location: London, Devon House (St Katherines Dock). Salary: £49,469 - £60,795 per annum (Grade8). Start: 1st January2027 or by arrangement.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver modules for NU London's BSc (Hons) Transport Planning programme, primarily asynchronous and online.
• Lead design and delivery of the following courses: Investment and Procurement; UK Transport Policy and Governance; Policy and Governance Fundamentals; Control, Regulation, and Competitions.
• Provide general service to the University across faculties and the Centre for Apprenticeships.
• Support Degree Apprentices, executive education and innovative teaching, learning and assessment.

Qualifications

• PhD completed or near completion, or equivalent professional experience in a relevant area.
• FHEA status, or equivalent, achieved or expected.
• Evidence of teaching transport policy, planning, appraisal, regulation and stakeholder engagement at a high standard.
• Willingness and capacity for continuous professional development in areas such as AI, technology, data, sustainability and ethics.
• Teaching competency in transport planning at least Level6.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills, face to face and online.
