Assistant Professor in Optometry - Grade 9 Faculty of Life Sciences School of Optometry and Vision Science

Salary: £48,149 to £55,755 per annum

PostType: Full Time

ContractType: Permanent

What you will be doing:
  • Undertake research informed teaching and teaching related activities, to be agreed with the Head of Department.
  • Plan, deliver and assess innovative, engaging and challenging teaching activities which provide a distinctive and exceptional student experience.
  • Ensure teaching is research-led with subject content underpinned by relevant specialist research.
Qualifications / Experience:
  • PhD (or equivalent) in optometry, or a relevant subject area, or an Honours degree (or equivalent) in optometry or a related degree, coupled with registration with the General Optical Council.
  • Candidates for the Associate Professor role will be expected to possess a PhD (or equivalent) in optometry, or a relevant subject area.
  • Registration with the General Optical Council is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Advance HE fellow or a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education Practice, or a commitment to obtaining this following appointment.
  • 30 days holiday and 13 statutory and customary days (taken at Easter and Christmas).
