About the RoleThis is a multi skilled Assistant Producer role at the heart of live sports broadcasting, combining editorial, analytical and graphics responsibilities to deliver compelling real time storytelling. Working across replay, data analysis (including telestration/Piero style tools) and live graphics, you will help shape coverage from pre production through to live output and post match analysis. You will collaborate closely with operators, analysts and production teams to ensure content is accurate, insightful and visually engaging across all platforms. The role is aligned to live sports schedules including (but not limited to) UEFA Champions League, Six Nations, The Nations Championship, International football and the League of Ireland, requiring flexibility in working hours and a passion for live sport.
Key Responsibilities- Work across replay, analysis and graphics workflows to deliver accurate, timely and editorially strong live sports output.
- Take ownership of key on air elements, making confident editorial decisions in high pressure live environments.
- Collaborate with EVS/Live Touch operators to identify and deliver key replays, highlights and packages.
- Partner with analysis operators and analysts to create clear, engaging, data driven visual breakdowns of key moments.
- Oversee and verify all live graphics, ensuring accuracy, relevance and strong storytelling impact.
- Monitor live matches, statistics and trends, identifying key narratives and feeding them into broadcast output in real time.
- Act as a central communication point between gallery, studio talent, producers, directors, analysts and operators to ensure a seamless broadcast.
- Support producers in shaping editorial rundowns and identifying key talking points before and during live broadcasts.
- Contribute to pre production planning, including researching storylines, preparing clips, statistics and analysis elements ahead of transmission.
- Support the creation of post match analysis, highlights and recap content.
- Identify key moments suitable for digital and social platforms and adapt content where required.
- Step into and support other production roles as required within a live environment.
- Strong understanding of live sports production workflows, including replay (EVS/LiveTouch), graphics systems and analysis/telestration tools.
- Excellent knowledge of sport, with the ability to anticipate key moments and identify compelling narratives.
- Experience working with sports analytics and data visualisation, translating complex information into clear, engaging storytelling.
- Outstanding editorial judgement and attention to detail, particularly under live broadcast pressure.
- Ability to make quick, confident decisions in a fast paced, high pressure environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across multiple departments.
- Familiarity with multi platform production, including awareness of digital and social content workflows.
- Awareness of emerging broadcast technologies and demonstrated knowledge of the latest AI tools for content creation, clipping, tagging, data analysis and workflow efficiency, and an openness to integrating them into production environments.
