Overview

Salary: £39,125 - £44,272 (starting salary dependent on qualifications and experience)

We invite you to apply for the position of Assistant Outdoor Learning Manager at Brantwood Garden School. The role supports the Deputy Principal of the Outdoor Provision in leading and expanding our established farm school based in Eyam, Derbyshire. It is designed for an individual with experience working with young people with complex needs, who has an affinity for animals and a background in teaching or horticulture.

Key Responsibilities

We work on the land to inspire students through seasonal activities using natural resources and the 'seed to table' approach. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, resourcing and teaching Practical Skills Therapeutic Education (PSTE) activities
  • Identifying and leveraging learning opportunities within the landscape to contribute to the future development of the farm
  • Working with students and staff to support their growth and therapeutic outcomes
Qualifications & Experience

In order to be successful in this role you will need:

  • A full teaching qualification or equivalent experience (desirable)
  • Experience working with animals (essential); teaching and horticultural experience desirable
  • Training in Biodynamic Agriculture or willingness to attend training and work toward a qualification
  • Proven ability to lead, manage sensitive issues, and maintain confidentiality
  • Full driving licence (essential)
