The Sun & 13 Canton's is a legendary pub in Soho, established in 1882, serving classic and craft beers with a focus on music and the arts. The restaurant is run as a residency and currently operated by Mamapen, London's first Cambodian kitchen, led by celebrated chef Kaneda Pen. Weekly DJs, drink promotions and a vibrant atmosphere make it a popular spot.

Assistant Manager Role

We are looking for an Assistant Manager to help with the day to day management of the pub. The role involves working a mix of restaurant and bar shifts, handling set up, ensuring standards and procedures are met, acting as a key holder, and taking responsibility for the pub, team and customers during shifts. The position is 30-40 hours per week with a mix of day, evening and split shifts.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team from the front, ensuring service standards are met.
• Work with the Deputy and General Manager to achieve and exceed targets.
• Take direction, but also provide leadership and support for the team.
• Plan for progression and discuss development opportunities at interview.

Qualifications

• At least two years of experience in a Supervisor or junior management role in a busy gastropub or restaurant.
• Experience across all facets of pub and restaurant management.
• Ability to work a mix of day, evening and split shifts.
• Strong leadership, communication and teamwork skills.
