Assistant Manager Responsibilities

In every restaurant, Assistant Managers work closely with the General Manager to share responsibility for the restaurant's success, leading, inspiring, and coaching the team to deliver profitability and excellent customer service.

• Manage staff - Shift Managers and Crew. Lead from the front, including working on the line and dining area.
• Support the General Manager in delivering perfect burgers & fries, store results and providing an "above & beyond" experience for team and customers.
• Create an awesome working environment where people are happy to come to work and have fun while leading with our values - Competitive, Enthusiastic, Family, Get It Done and Integrity.
• Ensure every customer is delighted with their order and their Five Guys experience - deal with complaints promptly in an open and honest way.
• Ensure each shift runs smoothly and that values form part of shift management, with long term planning.
• Have full ownership of your P&L, driving sales while controlling costs.
• Always lead with our values.
• Spot potential and develop your team to ensure a strong talent pipeline.

What You Bring to the Table

• Experience: At least 1-2 years of management experience in a similar role within a high volume hospitality or QSR environment.
• Customer Satisfaction: Obsession with the guest experience with proven results: customer satisfaction scores, engagement, Mystery Shopper results and positive reviews.
• Financial Responsibility: Experience assisting with P&L management, controlling labour costs and managing inventory/waste to meet profitability targets.
• Leadership Skills: Proven track record of leading, coaching and motivating a team; developing people and identifying future talent.
• Operational Excellence: Solid understanding of Food Safety standards, Health & Safety regulations and maintaining 5 star hygiene ratings.
• Flexibility: Available to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
