Assistant Manager / Manager - Accountancy Practice (North West London)

Sheridan Maine is working with a growing and forward-thinking accountancy firm in North West London to recruit an Assistant Manager or Manager to join their expanding team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA or equivalent) with strong practice experience who is looking to step into a role with real scope for progression, client exposure, and leadership responsibility within a supportive and ambitious firm.

The Role

As an Assistant Manager / Manager, you will take ownership of a varied client portfolio and play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting and advisory services while supporting the wider growth of the practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of SME and owner managed business clients
  • Oversee preparation and review of statutory accounts, management accounts, and tax returns
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, providing proactive financial advice
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members, supporting their development
  • Review work prepared by junior staff to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Support partners and senior leadership with client meetings and business advisory work
  • Contribute to improving processes, systems, and efficiencies within the practice
  • Assist with business development and client relationship growth where required
About You
  • ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Strong experience within an accountancy practice environment
  • Proven ability to manage a client portfolio independently
  • Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounts, tax, and financial reporting
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills
  • A proactive approach and desire to progress within a growing firm
