The Role

Do you enjoy practical problem solving and making sure things are safe, compliant and well organised? We're looking for an Assistant Maintenance Services Manager with a water focus to support safe, reliable water systems across University Hospital Monklands. You'll work closely with trade teams and specialist contractors, helping keep planned maintenance on track and stepping in quickly when issues arise. This is a hands on operational role. You'll help coordinate day to day activity, support delivery of planned preventative maintenance (PPM), monitor the quality of work being delivered, and make sure records and compliance evidence are kept up to date. You'll also help organise stakeholder touchpoints when needed and support improvement work that strengthens governance and statutory reporting.

What you'll be doing (day to day)
  • Coordinating internal trade teams and contractors on site, keeping activity safe and well planned.
  • Supporting delivery of water related maintenance activity and compliance tasks, including good record keeping and reporting.
  • Monitoring standards of work and raising concerns early, escalating where appropriate.
  • Supporting audits/inspections and helping keep documentation accurate and ready.
  • Helping drive improvements in how the service plans work, tracks actions, and reports performance.
What we're looking for
  • A relevant technical background in estates, maintenance or building services (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience working with water systems and supporting compliance activity.
  • Confidence working with contractors and monitoring standards of work.
  • An organised approach to records, reporting and inspections.
  • The ability to spot issues early and escalte appropriately.
  • Clear communication skills and a professional, collaborative approach.
  • A full UK driving licence.
