The Trustees of Avonreach Academy Trust wish to appoint a strong and confident leader who thrives on challenge as Assistant Headteacher. You will support the Headteacher in providing strategic leadership to secure high standards of teaching, learning, achievement and behaviour across the school. You will foster a culture of excellence, inclusion and continuous improvement, ensuring all students achieve their full potential regardless of starting point or background.

We are restructuring our leadership model which allows us to be flexible regarding the specific portfolio, allowing the successful candidate's strengths and expertise to contribute to whole school success.

Our supportive and dedicated Leadership Team currently consists of an Headteacher, two Deputy Headteachers, two Assistant Headteachers and extended leadership team posts: Head of Maths/RSL Core Subjects, SENCO, DSL.

We currently have 1053 students on roll in Years 7-13 of which 218 are on the SEND Register, 42 of whom have EHCPs. This includes 14 students who are part of our Mainstream Autism Base (MAB). In addition, 20% of students are in receipt of the Pupil Premium Grant. Student numbers are predicted to rise further in the next few years.

The school is part of the DfE School Rebuilding Programme and work started in summer 2025 to create a new £26.8 million building, providing significant enhancement to our facilities. This will allow the school to take a full cohort of Year 7 students from September 2027.

Pershore High School takes safeguarding children very seriously and the successful applicant will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure via the DBS.
