About the roleThe Assistant Head Groundsperson will play a key role in assisting in the planning, supervision, and delivery of all track and grounds maintenance activities, ensuring the greyhound stadium is presented to the highest standards.
Responsibilities- Support the Head Groundsperson in the maintenance and presentation of the racing surface and grounds to the highest standards.
- Assist with the preparation of the track for all trials and race meetings.
- Maintain landscaped, customer facing, and external areas, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment.
- Operate, inspect, and maintain grounds machinery and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
- Promote and uphold greyhound welfare and adherence to GBGB Rules of Racing.
- Assist with staff coordination, resource planning, and race day operations.
- Work collaboratively with racing staff, officials, contractors, and governing bodies.
- Demonstrate strong leadership, initiative, and decision making skills in daily operations.
- Contribute to the overall upkeep and continuous improvement of the stadium grounds and facilities.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to lead, motivate, and support team members
- Strong communication skills - able to communicate at all levels
- Strong organisational skills
- Ability to work to strict pressured deadlines
- Lanta Tractor Qualification including safe use of attachments
- Full clean driving licence
- Tractor driving and machinery operation experience essential
- 2 Annual Members passes, giving access to over 1500 racedays
