Job Description
Summary of Position 
This role is an Assistant Floor Manager position at the new Clays location in Soho. You will support the Floor Manager in orchestrating planning, recruitment and delivery of floor operations. Working with the General Manager you will implement the Clays service system, develop location standards and supervise a team of around 15 floor colleagues. The role focuses on colleague development, service excellence, and succession planning through the Clayers Academy.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesOperational Management:
- Oversee daily floor operations to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Implement Clays standard operating procedures for floor colleagues.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Maintain front of house equipment and utensils in good working order.
- Execute the service and game delivery in accordance with the Clays operations playbook.
- Coordinate with bar and kitchen departments to ensure optimal performance.
Our Clayers:
- Train, mentor and motivate floor colleagues to foster a positive work environment.
- Schedule and manage floor colleague shifts to ensure adequate coverage.
- Promote Clays behaviours and effective communication among front of house staff.
- Support colleague development through ongoing training via the Clayers Academy.
- Ensure colleague compliance with company policies and procedures.
Guest Experience:
- Ensure that all food and drinks are served and presented to the highest standard.
- Strive continuously to improve the Clays steps of service wheel.
- Monitor guest feedback and adjust service as needed.
- Engage with Clayers to gain feedback and ensure guest satisfaction.
- Address and resolve any guest complaints or issues promptly and effectively.
- Maintain a focus on providing exceptional game, food and beverage experiences for all guests.
- Ensure the venue and atmosphere are always at the very highest standard.
Financial Management:
- Support the management of departmental budgets including labour and F&B and consumable costs.
- Monitor and control inventory, minimising waste and maintaining stock levels.
- Implement cost control measures without compromising on quality.
Marketing and Promotion:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and promote special menus and events.
- Assist in creating promotional content for social media and other channels.
- Participate in marketing initiatives to increase Clays visibility and reputation.
- Support the execution of Clays key seasons, including Sunshine, Moonlight and Festive periods.
- Act as a brand ambassador, maintaining the Clays Game, Service and F&B reputation.
Administrative Duties:
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and submit required reports promptly.
- Manage floor documentation, including recipes, training materials and safety procedures.
- Support front of house safety and hygiene audits.
- Execute Clays policies and procedures.
- Support local suppliers in line with the F&B strategy.
- 1 year of experience in a similar high volume pre booked business position is desirable.

- Competitive Salary: base salary £31,000 with on target earnings of £40,000 (performance related bonus + Tronc service charge).
