Role OverviewWe are seeking a proactive Assistant Finance Business Partner to join our effective Finance Business Partnering team, which provides strategic, value-added financial services to the Council.
Key Responsibilities- Provide budget holders with high-quality advice, analysis, and interpretation to support effective decision-making and performance management.
- Offer senior managers and service managers expert advice on financial management, accounting issues, and value for money.
- Support strategic policy development and uphold high standards of financial discipline in decision-making processes.
- Deliver excellence in reporting, analysis, and financial control, ensuring best practices are applied across service areas.
- Ensure accurate collation and reporting of financial information within the Council's finance systems, and identify risks and opportunities affecting the Council's financial position.
- AAT qualified or hold an equivalent business/accounting degree.
- Preferably CCAB qualified or working towards a CCAB qualification.
- Knowledge of local government finance and experience providing financial advice to senior management within large or complex organizations.
- Proactive in identifying trends, opportunities for change, and solutions to budget issues.
