Rate: Flexible - depending on experience

Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive Assistant Finance Business Partner to join our effective Finance Business Partnering team, which provides strategic, value-added financial services to the Council.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide budget holders with high-quality advice, analysis, and interpretation to support effective decision-making and performance management.
  • Offer senior managers and service managers expert advice on financial management, accounting issues, and value for money.
  • Support strategic policy development and uphold high standards of financial discipline in decision-making processes.
  • Deliver excellence in reporting, analysis, and financial control, ensuring best practices are applied across service areas.
  • Ensure accurate collation and reporting of financial information within the Council's finance systems, and identify risks and opportunities affecting the Council's financial position.
Qualifications and Experience
  • AAT qualified or hold an equivalent business/accounting degree.
  • Preferably CCAB qualified or working towards a CCAB qualification.
  • Knowledge of local government finance and experience providing financial advice to senior management within large or complex organizations.
  • Proactive in identifying trends, opportunities for change, and solutions to budget issues.
