Assistant Engineering Manager Location: Drogheda, Co. Louth Salary: €45,000 - €65,000 + benefits Job Type: Full-time, Permanent We are recruiting for an Assistant Engineering Manager to join a major heavy manufacturing site near Drogheda. This is a senior maintenance leadership role, responsible for managing day-to-day engineering operations, maximising plant availability, leading maintenance teams and supporting major shutdowns, overhauls and engineering projects. The Role: Manage mechanical and electrical maintenance teams, including supervisors, planners and tradespeople Lead safe working practices and drive continuous improvement across site maintenance operations Plan and support preventative and predictive maintenance activity Manage maintenance-related projects from design through to installation Oversee contractors, plant hire resources and associated costs Support the planning and delivery of major shutdowns and plant overhauls Work closely with production, operations, safety and senior management teams Deputise for the Engineering Manager when requiredAbout You: Level 8 or 9 qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar Minimum 5 years' experience in engineering, maintenance or plant leadership Background in heavy industry, manufacturing, cement, aggregates, quarrying, chemicals, power, or similar environments Strong leadership, technical and people management skills Experience managing costs, contractors and engineering projects Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills Proficient with Microsoft OfficePackage: €45,000 - €65,000 salary Benefits package Permanent, full-time role Senior leadership opportunity within a large-scale heavy manufacturing environmentWR Engineering are the recruitment partner for engineering, manufacturing & technical sales jobs.
