Assistant Director of Nursing

We are Hiringan Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to a leading Nursing home in Dublin, Ireland.

Permanent/full time

Responsibilities

• Conduct internal audits and implement corrective actions where required.
• Lead staff induction, training, and ongoing professional development.
• Promote innovative and evidence-based clinical practices.
• Ensure compliance with HIQA standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
• Facilitate regular communication and engagement meetings with clinical staff.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with community agencies and local organizations.
• Support marketing and community engagement initiatives to enhance the home's profile.
• Implement and monitor Health & Safety policies, including fire safety and emergency preparedness.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and infection prevention.
• Oversee preventative maintenance programmes to ensure a safe environment.
• Participate in staff recruitment, selection, and workforce planning activities.
• Conduct regular training needs assessments and support staff development.
• Provide cover for the Director of Nursing as required.
• Ensure the delivery of safe, high quality care in line with regulatory and quality standards.

Requirements

• Qualified Registered Nurse with a minimum of 3 years' management experience within the last 6 years in older person care.
• Hold a post registration management qualification in healthcare or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in clinical leadership and healthcare management.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to make sound decisions and deliver results.
• Ability to work collaboratively and foster a positive team environment.
