About the role:

To assist with the preparation, cooking, serving or delivering of food in a Powys County Council premise, by efficient use of resources.

Compliance with the Food Safety Act, nutritional standards as per Welsh Government Healthy Schools in Wales and all relative procedures, policies and legislation.

Promotion of the Catering Service through promotional events and customer awareness.

Cover for the cook during their absence.

About you:

You must have an excellent understanding of food safety.

Have a good understanding of the importance of food control.

Ability to obtain Food Safety Certificate level 2 is essential

Ability to undertake the physical demands of the position.

Ability to respond to peaks in workload, meet deadlines and deliver the required service.

What you will do:

Assist with preparation of meals that are compliant with the Food Safety Act and Welsh Government nutritional guidelines, including special diets.

Assist with stock control, storage, preparation, cooking, delivering and serving of meals on and off site to the requirements of the service.

Maintain accurate records as required.

Assist with the preparation of menus, menu development and costing associated with the catering service.

Assist in the evaluation of staffing levels, staff rotas, on the job training of staff.
