Assistant Chef

About the Role

HC-One is seeking an Assistant Chef with a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate and good understanding of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP). The role requires positive energy, strong organisational skills, an ability to meet deadlines, a sense of presentation in food, accurate adherence to recipes and a considered and kind approach to communication with residents and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Cook and serve nutritious, healthy meals that residents will enjoy.
• Provide outstanding support to the First Chef, and assume responsibility in their absence.
• Manage food stock and utilise the budget efficiently.
• Coach colleagues and supervise kitchen clean up, always keeping resident wellbeing in mind.
• Recognise and respond to safeguarding concerns, attend mandatory safeguarding training, seek advice and report any concerns for escalation.

Requirements

• A Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Good understanding of HACCP.
• Positive, considerate attitude with strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
